Service Description
IV Hydration Normal saline (0.9% sodium chloride) and lactated Ringer's solution are both commonly used intravenously for dehydration, each offering distinct compositions and applications. Here's a short comparison of these two fluids: Normal Saline (0.9% Sodium Chloride): Composition: Comprised of sodium chloride in water, normal saline mimics the body's natural fluid balance by providing sodium and chloride ions. Electrolyte Content: Contains only sodium and chloride, making it a straightforward solution without additional electrolytes. pH: Has a pH of approximately 5.5, which is close to the body's natural pH. Use: Often used for fluid resuscitation, dehydration, and diluting medications. Lactated Ringer's: Composition: Contains sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride, and sodium lactate in water, providing a more complex electrolyte profile. Electrolyte Content: Includes multiple electrolytes, making it more physiologically similar to plasma. pH: Has a pH around 6.5–7.5, closer to physiological levels than normal saline. Use: Commonly used for fluid resuscitation, dehydration, and in surgical and obstetric settings. Lactated Ringer's is particularly favored when there is a need for additional electrolytes.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide our office with 24-hour notice to change or cancel an appointment. Patients who do not attend a scheduled appointment or do not provide 24-hour notice to change a scheduled appointment may be responsible for a $25.00 service charge. This charge will deducted from deposit if appointment is cancelled less than 24-hours. We reserve your one-hour appointment time just for you. We do not double-book our patients so that we may provide optimum treatment outcomes for all our patients. 24-hour notice allows us to offer that time to a waitlisted patient. Repeat Offenders If you consistently cancel within 24-hours or not show up for your appointments, after the third time, you will only be able to make appointments on a day of basis. If there are no appointments available that day you will be placed on a waitlist for next available. Thank you for your understanding!
